I believe we need to evaluate every bit of spending in this stimulus proposal with one important criteria - does it really stimulate the economy and help create jobs - if the answer is no, it does not belong in a so-called stimulus package. Furthermore, the stimulus must include significant direct relief to American workers in the form of payroll tax cuts and programs to help homeowners keep their homes. Finally, we need an end game to this stimulus so that when our economy recovers, these spending programs do not remain permanent and saddle our children with a skyrocketing national debt. I appreciate the discussions President Obama is having with my Republican colleagues, but the time for talking has come to an end and we must now begin some serious negotiation. But as of yet, Republicans have not been given the opportunity to be involved. The House of Representatives passed a stimulus bill without a single Republican supporting it. In the Senate, the Democrat leadership is trying to jam the existing proposal through regardless of reservations from a number of members. With so much at stake, the last thing we need is partisanship driving our attempts to turn the economy around. I have long been a fighter against wasteful spending in Washington and long an advocate for a balanced budget -- that will never change. I realize we face extraordinary challenges with our economy today, but that is not an excuse for more irresponsibly from Washington. I hope you will join me in saying no to this stimulus package as it currently exists by signing this petition. 3.OPPOSE the Stimulus Package!!!!! Contact as many Congressman as possible.Especially on the finance committees. Contact your own and especially be sure to contact the REPUBLICAN reps and senators. Our pressure will make a difference! This site has a great contact list.

Leon Panetta is picked for C.I.A. director and this is a very very poor choice.He has no experience and this is just not the time for someone with no experience at all being confirmed for this position.Wrong guy totally.

We DEFINITELY oppose the stimulus package as it stands. And FOCA!! Let's keep our eye on the ball.One or two victories doesn't mean the battle is over!!!! We do not want the Republicans to roll over and play dead and the only way to do that is contact in numbers.It does make a difference. There are a few things we can call out Obama on: he said he wasn't going to allow lobbyists.He's appointed one and gave him a pass. He is not calling the war on terror-the war on terror.It's either a war or it isn't.The man has no spine!

5. Last but not least Obama is trying to water down the Homeland Sec Dept and the CIA. His appointments speak for themselves. President-elect Barack Obama has chosen former Clinton White House chief of staff Leon Panetta to run the CIA. He has no experience. The atty general is questionable as is Obama's pick for head of Homeland Security. CONTACT CONGRESS.TELL THEM NO WAY!!

The biggest battle is going to be making sure the Rep in Congress stand up and not play dead.When this plan fails( and it will )then Obama will blame everyone. We MUST support those who oppose him or they'll just go along merrily.We can't have that! Be sure to contact Boehner and your reps and make it as plain as day

Be sure to get the word out and have ppl join us.Numbers count when contacting Congress and Obama. If we don't have enough folks our voice gets drowned out and they listen to the ppl they know are supporting them.That's just the way it is.We MUST get ppl to join us and speak up.
